It's not surprising that Smythson are famous for their impeccably designed luxury stationary and leather goods, their Bond Street store opened back in 1887 so they've had quite some time to perfect them. What is surprising is the fact that the basic designs haven't changed much, if at all, since then. Indeed the only thing different about the iconic Featherweight Diary (one of the first portable notebooks and still a staple of the store) is the name - it is now called the 'Panama'. Which is not to say they have rested on their laurels- Smythson keep the range up to date with whimsical new collections each season featuring quirky products like the 'Blah Blah Blah' notebook and 'Little Black Book' address book. Not to mention their coveted handbags, wallets and jewellery boxes and specialised services like bespoke wedding stationary, luxurious personalised stationary and fine corporate gifts. It's easy to be smitten with Smythson.
